From April to October, the UBU in-person support group meets in a garden setting in Sacramento, CA. Survivors and supporters come together to hear insightful speakers, share their stories if they choose, and enjoy a leisurely brunch while getting to know one another. Survivors are always encouraged to share their stories but are never asked to do so.
Program Impact
Connecting with other survivors of sexual assault is a liberating and comforting experience that reinforces the idea that victims are never to blame for what has happened to them. Listening to speakers who share information about sexual assault and the resources available to survivors is a vital part of the survivor journey.
