Executive Director
Kris Pedretti was 15 years old when she was attacked in her home by the Golden State Killer. Immediately, her father instructed her never to speak again of what had occurred. This led to 42 years of living in silence, shame, and isolation. Following the trauma of her perpetrator’s arrest in 2018, Kris finally received the support and therapy she needed to process what had happened and understand that her rape was something done to her, not something caused by her.
Kris is now an outspoken advocate for victims of sexual assault on social media, in televised interviews, documentaries, podcasts, and national conferences. She also actively engages with law enforcement about the benefits of trauma-informed interviewing and facilitates online and in-person support groups to provide a safe space for healing.
